Elements Not Showing on Storefront

Troubleshoot why Pins, Product Sets, Annotations, or Captions aren't appearing on your product pages.

Symptoms

  • Pins, Annotations, or Captions don't appear on product images
  • Product Sets are missing from product pages
  • Elements were working before but stopped appearing

Solutions

Check the App Embed Block

The most common cause is the app embed block not being enabled.

  1. Open the LinkSpot dashboard
  2. Check the integration status -- it should show "Enabled"
  3. If it shows "Not enabled", click Enable app embed and save in the theme editor

If you recently switched themes, the app embed block needs to be enabled again on the new theme.

Run the Compatibility Test

Your theme may not be compatible, or compatibility data may be outdated.

  1. In the LinkSpot dashboard, click Setup compatibility
  2. Wait for the test to complete
  3. If the result is "Incompatible", try setting a manual CSS selector or contact support

Verify the Element Is Active

Make sure the element you created is active and not disabled.

  • For Product Sets: check that the set is toggled on in the product sets list
  • For Pins/Annotations/Captions: verify they are saved and assigned to the correct product

Check Plan Limits

If you've exceeded your plan's limits, elements over quota won't display on the storefront. Check your usage in the dashboard and upgrade your plan if needed.

Verify the Correct Theme

LinkSpot stores compatibility data per theme. Make sure the theme selected in the LinkSpot dashboard matches the theme published on your storefront.

Use the theme selector in the dashboard to switch themes and check each one's compatibility status.

Try a Manual CSS Selector

If the compatibility test fails, you can manually specify which elements on the page are product gallery images.

  1. Click the menu icon next to the compatibility status
  2. Select Manually set CSS selector
  3. Enter the CSS selector that matches your product gallery items (e.g., .product-gallery .gallery-item)
  4. Click Save selector

Contact Support

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact LinkSpot support from the app (Contact in the sidebar) or email support@linkspotapp.com. Include:

  • Your store URL
  • Which theme you're using
  • Which elements are not showing
  • The collaborator request code (found in Shopify admin under Settings > Users and permissions > Collaborators)
