Changing the text font family
Switch the font family used for text inside LinkSpot elements (badges, pins, annotations, captions, product sets, buttons, collages) from Settings > General.
By default, the text inside LinkSpot elements uses a web-safe system font. You can switch it to another web-safe font, or have it inherit from your theme's body font, from a single setting in Settings > General.
The choice applies across all element types: badge labels, pin tooltips, annotation text, caption text, button labels, product set headings, and collage cell captions.
Change the font
- In the LinkSpot admin, open Settings > General.
- Scroll to the Style settings card.
- Find the Text font family dropdown.
- Pick a font from the list.
- A small live preview appears next to the dropdown so you can see how the picked font looks.
- Click Save on the page save bar.
The change applies to the storefront on the next render of LinkSpot elements.
Available options
The dropdown offers a curated list of web-safe font stacks. Notable choices:
- System (default). Uses each device's native UI font (San Francisco on macOS and iOS, Segoe UI on Windows, Roboto on Android, and so on). Lightweight and renders without any download.
- Body font (inherits from theme). Inherits the font family already set by your Shopify theme for body text. Pick this if you want LinkSpot text to match your existing typography automatically.
- Several other web-safe stacks (serif, sans-serif, and monospace variants) that come preinstalled on most devices.
All of these are stacks that already exist on the visitor's device, so they render instantly.
Why only web-safe fonts
LinkSpot deliberately does not offer Google Fonts or any other downloadable web fonts. From the in-app tooltip:
Web-safe fonts load instantly because they already exist on the user's device. Google Fonts are not supported to avoid performance issues such as additional downloads, layout shifts, and flash of unstyled text.
If your theme already loads a Google Font for body text, picking Body font (inherits from theme) lets LinkSpot use that font without LinkSpot itself loading anything additional.
Scope
The font setting is global to LinkSpot. There is no per-element font override; all LinkSpot elements use the same font family. Other typography options (size, weight, color) are still configurable per element where supported.
