Saving templates

A shop template is a set of element settings that you save in your own shop and reuse later. Shop templates appear in the Library modal alongside the system templates LinkSpot ships, but they are only visible inside your shop.

You can save up to 50 shop templates per element type.

Supported element types

You can create shop templates for:

• Pins

• Annotations

• Captions

• Badges

• Buttons

• Product sets

Collages do not support templates.

Save the current element as a template

1. Open the element form (create a new element, or open an existing one).

2. Configure the fields you want to capture in the template.

3. Open the form's action menu and click Save as template.

4. The Save as template modal opens.

5. Enter a Template name (up to 100 characters). Pick something descriptive, such as "Yellow SALE badge for clearance" or "VIP cross-sell pin".

6. Click Save.

The template is saved against your shop, scoped to the element type you saved it from. A pin template only shows up when you create pins, a button template only shows up for buttons, and so on.

Where shop templates appear

Once saved, the template appears in the Saved tab of the Library modal (the Library action in the element form). You can apply it to a new or existing element of the same type, just like a system template. See Using templates.

What gets saved

The template captures the configurable fields of the element: content, style, design, and behavior. It does not save targeting (which products the element applies to) or other per-element settings that would not make sense to share between elements.

This means a saved template is a visual and behavioral preset, not a duplicate of the original element.

Limits and deletion

• Each shop can save up to 50 templates per element type.

• You can delete a shop template from the Saved tab in the Library modal.

• System templates cannot be deleted. Only your own shop templates can.
