Quickstart
Add your first pin to a product and see it render on your storefront in a few minutes.
This walkthrough adds a single pin to one of your products and previews it on the storefront. Pins are the simplest LinkSpot element to start with: a clickable marker on a product image that reveals information when a shopper interacts with it.
This guide assumes you have already completed the setup guide so the app embed is enabled and LinkSpot knows where to place elements.
Step 1: Open the Elements page
From the LinkSpot dashboard, click Elements in the top navigation. The Elements page lists each element type LinkSpot supports (pins, annotations, captions, product sets, buttons, badges, collages) as a card.
Step 2: Start a new pin
- Find the Pins card.
- Click the button to add a new pin.
- A product picker appears. Pick a product from your catalog.
- LinkSpot opens the pins page for that product.
If the product has more than one image, pick the image you want to add the pin to.
Step 3: Place and configure the pin
- Click on the image where you want the pin to appear. LinkSpot places a marker at that point.
- The pin form opens. Set the text a shopper sees when they interact with the pin, pick a pin style, and optionally add a link to a URL or another product.
- Click Save.
Step 4: View the pin on your storefront
- Navigate to the product you just edited on your storefront.
- The pin appears as a marker on the image you placed it on.
- Hover over the pin on desktop, or tap it on mobile, to see the configured content.
If the pin does not appear:
- Check that the app embed is enabled for your current theme. The setup guide handles this.
- Make sure you are viewing the same image you placed the pin on.
- Reload the page in case your browser is showing a cached version.
What's next
You have just created your first per-image element. Try the other types from the same Elements page:
- Annotations layer visual callouts (lines, shapes) on an image.
- Captions show short text overlays on an image.
- Badges, buttons, product sets, and collages are shop-wide elements you configure once and target to many products.
Each of those is added the same way: find the card on the Elements page, click to add, and follow the same general flow.
