Badges
Overlay visual badges (SALE, NEW, low-stock, countdown timers, stamps) on your product images to highlight value, urgency, or other product details.
Badges are visual signals you overlay on product gallery images to communicate things like a sale, a new arrival, low stock, or a countdown to a deadline. You create one badge in the LinkSpot admin, decide which products it appears on, design how it looks, and set the rules for when and where it shows up.
You can find badges under Elements > Badges in the LinkSpot admin.
Create a badge
-
From the LinkSpot dashboard, click Elements in the top navigation.
-
Find the Badges card and click the add button.
-
The badge form opens.
The form has four tabs:
-
Placement — which products the badge appears on, and where on each product image.
-
Content — the badge text or image, plus optional add-ons like a countdown timer or a stamp.
-
Style — position, color, size, corner radius, icon, and animation.
-
Advanced — scheduling, visibility conditions, device visibility, and display priority.
Content options
A badge can be one of several types, picked from the Content tab:
-
Text badge. A short label such as "SALE" or "NEW" rendered in your chosen color and font.
-
Image badge. An uploaded image used in place of text. Useful for custom-designed badges.
-
Countdown timer. Shows the time remaining until a deadline. Supports configurable formats and evergreen cycles. Available in Growth plan.
-
Stamp badge. Rotating text around a circular shape (the classic "approved" stamp look). Available in Growth plan.
You can also enable a tooltip on the badge (an info icon that reveals extra text on hover or tap). Available in Growth plan.
Style options
From the Style tab you control how the badge looks:
-
Position on the image (top, side, and corner variants).
-
Corner radius, color, and size.
-
An optional icon rendered alongside the badge text.
-
Animation for urgency: beat, pulse, grow, or rotate. Available in Growth plan.
Placement on product cards
Badges can also appear on the smaller product cards shown on collection pages, search results, and other listings, not only on the product page itself. To enable this, run the Product cards compatibility test first (see Settings > Compatibility > Product cards).
Once a theme is configured, each badge has a Product card placement option:
-
Not auto-mounted (default; the badge does not show on cards).
-
Inside media container (the badge overlays the card image).
-
After media container (the badge sits below the card image).
-
Custom (use a custom CSS selector for the placement).
Storefront behavior
Once saved, the badge syncs to your storefront automatically. LinkSpot evaluates the badge's targeting, schedule, and visibility conditions in the shopper's browser and renders the badge on every matching image.
For badges that should appear somewhere other than the gallery (a hero banner, a custom page section), use the Product Badge app block from the theme editor instead (see the App blocks article).
